Textile and paperpulp mask collage

This collage piece includes small handwoven fabrics, embroidery, and a mask made from paper pulp and glue. I kept changing it around. There is a version of it that includes a bird nest of sticks that took me forever to make. When we moved from our house barn a couple of years ago, it was left on my workable, and mice got involved. At first I thought I could still salvage it (it is a much larger piece than I show in this photo) and I very much wanted to save it since it represented multiple years of slow stitching. However, this piece will only live on in its multiple digital records. The damage is too extensive.  True to my weird art form, I  am cutting it up into its usable pieces to be part of other projects that represent the continuous passage of time.
